Welcome to my collection! I'm Luke, a 23-year-old from Newcastle and a massive Newcastle United fan. I'm on an ambitious journey to visit all 197 nations and collect an authentic national team football shirt from each country I step foot in.
The Mission:
This isn't just about collecting shirts - it's about experiencing the world through football. Every shirt must be acquired in person, in that country. No online orders, no shortcuts. If I want the shirt, I have to make the journey. Currently, I'm at 26 countries and counting, with 171 more adventures ahead of me.
The Rules:
I've set myself a simple but challenging rule: I can only add a shirt to this collection if I've physically been to that country and purchased it there. This means each shirt represents not just a piece of football history, but a personal memory, a place I've explored, and people I've met along the way.
Why I Started:
Growing up in Newcastle, football has always been more than just a sport - it's a way of life. Supporting the Toon through thick and thin taught me about loyalty, passion, and community. I wanted to take that same passion and explore how football connects people across every corner of the globe.
The Journey So Far:
From the iconic kits of football powerhouses to the rare finds from nations where football is still growing, each of my 26 shirts has its own story. Some were easy to find in official stores, others required hunting through local markets and sports shops, asking locals for help, and sometimes a bit of luck.
The Dream:
171 countries to go. Some will be easier than others - I'm equally excited about ticking off the football giants and discovering the passion for the game in places where it's less prominent. Every nation, every shirt, every journey matters equally in this quest.
